Well it was a long day at college,I had a lot of work and to top it off,the lab sessions! anyway, after the "boring" day at college,I started my bike to rush back home.. and as usual I had to wait at the signal right in front of my college,the signal was long and it had a wide divider between the two way traffic,where needful(i would like to put it that way!) usually rest..I had seen all kinds of 'needful' people there,ranging from a beggar to somebody who sells stuff like candles,toys,wiping clothes,for their living,but today.. I saw something different... as I stopped my bike just beside the divider, I saw a lady sitting and asking me for money,I first ignored but later she pointed out at her child saying that he was hungry, I looked at the child, he was pretty cute...may be,around 2-3 years old.. wearing a tiny t shirt with shorts on.. playing with a handkerchief,he had a cute smile on his face,I felt my heart sink and I decided to give him something.I peeped into my pocket and looked for change,I found a 10 rs coin and decided to give him,I took the coin out of my pocket and i placed it on my palm, I placed my palm in front of him so that he could take the coin...he moved forward and took the coin from my palm ...his fingers touched my palm.. I looked at him.. and he suddenly swift his hand backward,I dint know why! He gave me a gaze,I could see in his eyes that he was scared,but scared of what? and later I realized that he was scared I would push him back because he touched me( I wouldn't do that!!!) I assured him that I'm a good human! (ofcourse not by words! but may be by eye contact) he smiled again.. I smiled back and shook hands with him..it made him happy and me too.. he then waved to me.. and went back to his mother,I waved back.. !
There was a "Honda City" just behind my bike,and as the mother saw it.. she forced the kid to go and ask the car owner for some money.. and the kid followed her command.. but the guy did not pity the kid.. and did not even respond to the kid! But it was very strange to see.. how ladies encourage their kids to beg others for money,they always give birth to more number of kids so as to increase their montly income...I could see the kid not willing to ask for the money but he had to..I guess he had no choice..!
This is India guys,where there are more number of illitrates,more number of kids suffering,uneducated kids,uneducated future..,homeless people,no jobs,no security,unhappy families,unsatisfied families,child labour.......Where is India heading to??
